Jerseys of different colour from their national colours?

  Hmm.. I've recently come to wonder about something. Usually, not only for soccer.. for all other competitive sports as well.. we see the players don the national colours while competing. Just like Singapore, we don the red and white as our home jersey. Argentina gets the light blue and white stripes straight off their national flag. England sticks to it's white and red. Brazil chose yellow which is seen sparingly in their national flag.
  
  However, there are some other countries which use colours that are totally not in their national flags.
  
  For example Germany.. Their national colours are black, red and yellow, yet they don a predominantly white coloured kit.
  
  Ghana as well.. They chose white when their national flag is red yellow and green.
  
  Australia is another team.. Green and yellow is totally not found in their flag which has only blue white and red in it.
  
  Champions Italy as well.. donning the blue when their flag is green white and red.
  
  I was wondering... why did these teams choose these colours? Do they not like their national flag colours or something?
  
  Hmm.. any other countries who are just like that?

  Since when was sg jersey colour blue??? LOL... except away jerseys of course.. away jerseys u can choose any damn colour u like. LOL...

  Holland wears full orange kit whereas their national flag is red, white & blue.
  
  As for Australia, the green and gold is from the national flower, the wattle.

  hmm.. see the strips on germany? got red and black strip..
