Compare how Rooney's first WC appearance with Owen's.. Remember how Owen scored against Argentina n his penalty goal in that match.. Owen is LEGEND!

Without a good manager they can't go far, without a good captain they can't perform. They have many player who can score goals but need someone to push them. Owen had already past his peak, his style of play is not suitable in Europe. He is not like Shearer who score well with header, his vision and speed is not as good as Europe top striker. Not having to mention is current injuries that had affect his performance. In the last 20 years, England only produce one good striker and he is Gary Lineker.

just look at liverpool, how many strikers better than crouch yet still play second fiddle to him? crouch has proven he is efficient n threaten aerial attack for the defenders. -

by selection of owen so early is as good as destroying his career since he never recover his touch. another 5 months of absence will costed his skills to drift apart like robbie fowler. -
