I find it strange the rooney is blame when the bottomline,
We have two captains, SteveG and Frank Lampard, and even a designated kicker in JamieC who can't score in the shootout.

Sigh..... didn't expect Lampard to miss that penalty as well as not getting on the score sheet. Rooney should be partly blamed...
He's a kid afterall and esp when a teammate trying to get him send off, the fustration of being a lone striker just blow him up..
n that we have to point finger at Eriksson..
HE should be blamed instead...
HE did nothing for the past 5yrs in charge..
Last 8 for the past 3 major tournament is a big flop considering the time he have to build the team up..
HE's lucky to have 1 of the best England team for a long time but he just blew it...
Guess he is spending more time what to do what the money the FA is giving him after the WC..

why we can blame rooney?
1. he got pay thouands of pounds a week just to play soccer. as such any mistake he should answer for his critics and performance. especially when nmost of those who pay for his high salary arent earning enough to juts buy a ticket to watch him play.
2. the whole of england waited for his recovery. yet all he do is to dash the hope of all england fans around the world by pushing his own teammates away. could you believe it? a professional like him should know once on the field they should play for their team and not friendship. guess this rooney cant differentiate the 2. dont blame ronaldo. just blame the stupidity of rooney.
3. yes he was shackle by 2 or more defender for most his game. but that part and parcel of being a branded football player. beating defender and scoring goals are his duty. half blame go to erikson, when rooney was mark our by 2 defender, there should be a free man somewhere to score goals. where are these man? simply tactical error by erikson. i guess he is better off F%^**( his model gf and talking to shiek than soccer.

If he did not get himself send off , he could have scored a goal and won the game for England or scored one of the penalties so people like Carragher do not need to take. And it was intentional , he admitted it. Isnt it obvious that he should be blamed? At least Beckham's one was unintentional 4 years ago but he still got himself bombarded by the press , so why not Rooney?

1. he is england's hope and he blew it by becoming stone cold steve austin in front of the referee. pure stupidity.
2. he caused the whole nation to worry about his metatarsal only to dash their hopes with his stomp and push
3. he thinks he is that damn good and when he cannot deliver, SGE and him are to balme for taking him instead of a 100 percent fit and healthy jermaine defoe
4. he is arrogant and disrespectful to his veterans like beckham
