The one constant in soccer should be fair play. In that sense, i think the actions of Michael Owen in the EPL while playing for liverpool, where he immediately got up after going to ground in the penalty box and waving away the penalty appeals of his teammates is fresh in my mind.
Same goes for Di Canio's 'ball catching' after Everton's GK was already injured and he gamely stopped play deliberately.

Not just Michael Owen. I remembered Fowler was commended for waving penalty appeals in a match against Arsenal. The ref still gave a penalty despite protestations from both Seaman and Fowler. Whatever it is, the candidate he back Juan Miguel Villar Mir did not win the Real election even after using his name... Instead another guy Ramon Calderon looks likely to be named Real Madrid's new president and he has vowed to sign Chelsea winger Arjen Robben and Milan's Brazilian playmaker Kaka - a declaration which has angered the Italian giants... he has also promised to appoint Juventus boss Fabio Capello as the club's new coach.

Oh... the thing is these Real Madrid presidential candidates have not met or spoken to any of the players, they only mentioned their names, in other words... they can be considered as talking nonsense. If you compare both cases its a lot of difference, in the Real M case it is seen as the candidates are talking fantasy football and these candidates righ now are only normal members like any fan... they are not even on the board of directors so in a way they don't even represent RM so no case to charge them, they can be seen as ordinary fan saying who they want until they are elected. By then maybe they will keep quiet or they can be charge by Fifa. And Chelsea... well, they had the intent... Kenyon & Mourinho are official representatives of Chelsea. -

but to be frank, why blame ronaldo. he should put country before friendship.
he is professional player. he play according to coach instruction. portuagl know rooney is a big threat. thus they are trying to get him sent off. this should be easily identify by the england camp. but what did erikson advice to rooney? i dont think he warn him anything about to come from portugal.
anyway, after replay, it does look like stamp on calvaho balls.
Poor england preparation and stupidity of rooney cause the downfall of england. pushing a opponents during match is behaving like a thug. but rooney is better. he is highly paid thug who grown up in the wrong generation. -
