Even Heskey is much more prolific than him
He comes from the wing then takes a random shot that flies in sometimes, But he lost the striker instincts he had and lost abit of pace.. When I watch Manu play, I don't even know where he plays
I seriously hope that SAF doesn't make him play on the wings because that would destroy England's best prospect since Owen

He is not the best striker England have right now, Darren Bent score more then him in EPL. In the 04/05 season, Andrew Johnson score 21 and he only manage 11, even Peter Crouch score 12 and Jermain Defoe 13. I don't see why he deserve such a respect, and now all hope are gone and you can tell me is it beco of the send off? Don't be smoke by the English media, Wayne is just a tool for Sven to cover up his mismanagement. If base on fact and figure, there are more player to be consisder as best.
He can't score is a fact, his character is a big problem to the manager.

his game is not an out and out striker like Shearer, Fowler, RVN or Owen, even when he is in Everton he is also being deploy as a 2nd striker and coming in late after the out and out striker draws defender away and being a 2nd striker he is supposed to be all over the place

He can't be a lone striker, he can't score goals, he will get fustrated. Just like the quarter-finals match.

at first when i wrote about his strking inadequacies, i thought i would be the odd one out in saying that he is not up there with lionel messi and ronaldinho, heck i was even condemned by ppl here for not knowing much about soccer when i have made enough money from betting to go for genghis khan buffet every week. The problem with ppl is that they believe too much of what they read in the papers about him and also from watching some of his goals which i admit some are spectacular but when you scrutinise his playing style, you would realise that he really plays similarly to heskey. he seems to be more interested in scoring beautiful goals rather than lots of goals. he often likes to run with the ball and charge and when he is under pressure just blasts it hoping god helps him. He has no heading ability at all, i cannot remember the last time he scored with his head. Because of this the goals he scored are painfully few when u have got so many good players like giggs supporting him at man u. It is really unbelievable for me when people start putting him alongside messi, i mean messi is up there in the heavens while rooney is down with the mortals. I am glad to have a group of like-minded individuals here who agree with his goal-scoring. I must stress that i do not like rooney, i just hate his playing style.
