  Worst Midfield:
  Frank Lampard
  -Could have taken him off and try playing only Gerrad. You never know if the result might be better. 30 goal attempts including a penalty and 0 goal to show for does not sound good.
  
  Worst Manager:
  Sven Goran Eriksson
  -Could not even get a decent formation choice even after so long in charge. Did not play the inexperienced Theo Walcott and got stuck with Peter Crouch when Rooney got sent off and Owen got injured.
  
  What if he had chosen Defoe instead of Walcott ?

  There were other players who did badly.
  It's easier to choose best player than worst player cos u have to look at the teams who didn't go into the last 16 too.
  
  Lampard did not play very gd in this WC but he is also not that worse either. It's anything but unspectecular oni.

  Crouch din do that badly.... at least he was the ONLY striker to score a WC goal....

  The worst has to be lampard.
  
  Because of the hype and reputation he carries as the "best midfielder in the world". He has more than 22 shots on goal (more than any other player in the wc) and yet he scored none.
  
  Not only that, he doesnt contribute much in attack or defence.
  
  Henry does not belong to the worst performers list. At the WC, he's definitely not the "God" he's hyped up to be at club level. But he did score a few important goals and he didnt play too badly.
