England lost to Portugal 3-2 in Euro 2000 and on penalties after a 2-2 draw in Euro 2004. Without Deco and possibly Ronaldo, there is still Simao , Boamorte and Quaresema to choose from. Don't forget Simao is the player which sent Liverpool and Man U out of Champs League. Portugal outclassed England in both encounters and I think Scolari has something up his sleeves against the team he rejected to coach. I think he will love to meet Brazil in the semifinals that is if Brazil get pass France. I just cannot see England beating Portugal. A draw perhaps and yet another penalty disaster for England.

Goodbye England ~~ No one else plays such "attractive " football like you guys. The "best" thing about England is you guys boosting that you all WILL or CAN win the world cup , forgetting the likes of Brazil, Argentina , Spain , Italy , France and Germany . Well done, you won't be missed.

I think this England squad for WC2006 are one of the best they put out so far. However the qualifying and second rounds performance leave much to be desired. It seem a case of coach not able to make full use of the players in the formation. He seem not able to match the player capability in which area well. His formation is questionable at times facing different opponent.
However with Portugal bruised encounter with Holland, this may tip in England favor. Unless Portual second string players can perform magic, I tip a 2-0 in England favor. If come to penalties shoot-out I tip Portugal to win cuz history had shown England are real bad in such situation. The atmosphere always overtake them -
Thats because local papers tend to take sources from english papers. I really do not understand why you people still support England when they are obviously playing like crap..Isit because of the overdose of EPL? Its so obvious Portugal is way better than England , from the qualifying results to the performance in this year's world cup. Portugal has 4 wins out of 4, most of which are convincing victories. England has 3 wins and a draw which could easily be 3 draws and a defeat.. Results speak for itself eh? Support is something that is cultivated over the years and you live with that team through thick and thin. There are people out there who support teams like Wrexham and Exeter instead of the Big Five EPL teams.
