Yeah, he's been pretty good. He knows how to be in control of the match while allowing play to flow smoothly.
Unlike that cursed referee during the England - Paraguay match. He was obviously anti-England in general, and anti-Crouch in particular.
And the Ozzies... what the hell were they trying to insinuate when they said that it definitely won't be a Singaporean referee if it was Argentina vs Germany? Honestly, I hope Lazie's scenario of an Argentina vs Germany final will come up and Shamsul gets to referee it.

With our "natural" obsession to follow by the book and sticking to the law, Singapore have created a niche for itself in a area where absolute obedience to the law is required - Ball Court.
With all the ball games played, the referee is the pivotal role in making all the decisions.
Therefore, the government should harness the "natural" law abiding characteristic of Singapore people and build a training college to groom people to be referee.
They can named the college after Shamsul for making a name for Singapore in the World Cup, NOT as a participant, but as the MAn in Black.
Singaporeans, from all ages, have already know most of the soccer rules from watching doses of EPL matches every week.
Imagine a contingent of Singapore Referee for the next World cup 2010.

So like that hor, you won't ever see a Singapore ref sending off David Beckham. If the ref doesn't ask him for an autograph before the match, I laugh already. -
