Erm, dude? The title says 'The Biggest Upsets in the History of the World Cup.Originally posted by walesa:Come on, stop quoting results off football annals - very soon, we'll have everything from N Korea 1-0 Italy in '66 to Senegal 1-0 France in '02!

Erm, dude? The title says 'The Biggest Upsets in the History of the World Cup.
You have to consider that the World Cup has a 76-year history stretching back to 1930. So it's short-sightedness to be talking about its history if you're only going to limit yourself to the 90s and the 21st century.
It isn't rocket science you couldn't possibly have watched the matches live - if your drivel was anything to go by, it'd hardly surprise me if more clowns came along quoting results from bygone eras where footages of the match in its entirety are almost non-existent. And for the sake of a sensible discussion, your load of drivel is hardly constructive.Originally posted by Marco_Simone:You assume that I have not watched the 2 matches?
Ok,I did not watch the USA match before, but watched the Hungary match before...![]()
Originally posted by fudgester:I did, but in my first post, I did suggest providing examples which you've seen(so if Marco_Simone has seen those 2 matches which he claims as the greatest upsets) - so if you've seen either of those 2 matches ( and I don't mean off documentaries or films like "Das Wunder von Bern" ), do fill me in and I'm more than happy to be enlightened.

Dude, the only true upset I see here is the sight of you calling people 'clowns' and claiming that they are spouting drivel just because they come up with historical upsets in a thread which deals with the biggest upsets in the history of the World Cup.Originally posted by walesa:I did, but in my first post, I did suggest providing examples which you've seen(so if Marco_Simone has seen those 2 matches which he claims as the greatest upsets) - so if you've seen either of those 2 matches ( and I don't mean off documentaries or films like "Das Wunder von Bern" ), do fill me in and I'm more than happy to be enlightened.
I don't think we're having any sort of a fruitful discussion having clowns throwing up drivel which they haven't seen and neither which they know anything about besides whatever archived documents they're able to lay their hands on to back up their claims of those matches being the greatest upsets.![]()

So you claim to have watched the Hungary match before. So do you actually mean just the goals or a copy of the film entitled "Das Wunder von Bern"?
You must have been equally short-sighted to have read the title alone without having read the first post. No, there's nothing great about walesa - but perhaps, unsubstantiated "great upsets" taken off annals which you've never seen(and know nuts about) and would like to go on and on about would be better served in another thread you could always create so as not to spoil your warped version of the beautiful game.Originally posted by fudgester:At the very least, you had posted a misleading title.
At the very worst, you're being shortsighted in claiming that the history of the World Cup is limited to the memory of some guy called walesa.
So what's so great about this walesa that we must all be subject to the limits of his memory?
What's so great about this walesa that everyone else who talks about the upsets of yesteryear are all 'clowns' who 'throw up drivel'?
'Nuff said. You just spoiled the Beautiful Game.![]()
I've got a copy of it - the original version in German without translation and subtitles. I know of a few places where you could watch that, but wouldn't know where you could buy a copy of that in Singapore.Originally posted by Marco_Simone:I got the DVD version of the full match from soccerbooks.co.uk-this webby got lotsa good retro stuff such as the legendary 1953 match between England and Hungary which I have too.
Do you know where to get the film the Miracle of the Bern? I am interested in buying it-you see,I am nuts for classic footie stuff.
