YES!Originally posted by babymac13:Do you think Brazil is over-rated in this current world cuP?
Sad to say before the world cup, I think they have the capable talents to win their 5th world cup championship, it seem that the team has lacked the sharpness and agility they used be.Originally posted by ^spidee^:YES!
But if Australia defeats Crotia, they'll have 6 points.Originally posted by Poolman:Anyway .... Brazil are going to do Zico a favour , by losing to Japan . So what if Australia win Croatia ?
Guus Hiddink will regret not getting one point against Brazil , it will be just that one point that will sent them packing to the Qantas !
Japan can't qualify barring a string of miraculous results - they'd need to hammer Brazil and hope Croatia beat Australia and that Croatia still do not have a better goal difference than them after that. All Australia need is a draw in the final match because head-to-head counts before goal difference at the WC(ie.Japan cannot be ranked higher than Australia if both finish level on points).Originally posted by Poolman:Anyway .... And what Poolman said about Brazil letting Japan win, is that possible? Do they really play strategic soccer like that?Originally posted by walesa:Japan can't qualify barring a string of miraculous results - they'd need to hammer Brazil and hope Croatia beat Australia and that Croatia still do not have a better goal difference than them after that. Back to the main issue : give credit to Hiddink. He took over from Frank Farina with just 4 months to the end of the Oceania qualifying matches with qualification for Germany '06 nowhere in sight(that was in those dark ages before they were even assured of the luxury of a playoff with Uruguay). And in the blink of an eye, he has stepped into an eleventh hour job and taken the Socceroos to their first World Cup finals in 32 years - this is truly "The Special One" who has an uncanny ability to make even the biggest minnows overperform.![]()
As with anything in life, there're endless conspiracy theories founded on the remotest of links(in this case, simply the fact that Japan's coach, Zico, was a top class player for Brazil in his playing days) - up to you to decide how much you want to read into it?Originally posted by ^spidee^:And what Poolman said about Brazil letting Japan win, is that possible? You can have the Pope and I still wouldn't fancy an average bunch of inconsistent journeymen beating a solid, unified team under the guidance of Hiddink...Originally posted by The man who was death:i rooting for hrvatska, go go go!!!
