I hate saying this(and that's coming from someone who has never liked England all my life from the fact that they're the only 'country' with 4 representatives to all the shananigans their fans would invariably cause ever-so-often), but this is without a doubt the finest England side in a generation. It also goes without saying they have the makings of having a great campaign - still, I wouldn't see the eventual champion coming from outside Germany, Argentina and England.Originally posted by Poolman:Not by scoring ....
By defending , and then win by penalty-kicks after extra time .
No doubt , John Terry and maybe Ferdinand has been doing quite a good job , especially Terry , a role model of a very good centre-back .
If England are to win , it will be the defense that win them the Cup .
Agree ?
And they have a knack of referring to England's records in the past tournaments, which admittedly isn't impressive for a nation that claims to have founded football as we know it.Originally posted by Poolman:There is a problem for those who said England can't make it ...... they judge England on just 2 matches ..... if you saw England thru'out the qualifiers and Friendlies , the defense are a magnificent lot , it needs something special to break them down .
England so far ..... conceded 0 goal .

hahah the son title is Dream by Everly Brothers.Originally posted by K800i:If England wins the World Cup , it's as a good as Singapore qualifying for World Cup. Stop dreaming England. England thinks they are the only good side around . I got a song for you . Dream , dream dream dream ( Forgot the title) .
England may have qualify for 2nd round but they will be knocked out sooner or later. Sorry Gerrard, Carragher and Crouch but your team is not good enough .
England : Your overconfidence and understimating of opponents will be your greatest downfall.
OK lah.... thanksOriginally posted by xfool:yes the odds would change usually but they payout according to the odds that u buy at that time, its printed on that betting receipt duh
superstars good wat.... Becks will bring them to victory... he is metrosexual and in touch with his feminine side.Originally posted by T.Ryousuke:For those who bet on England to win, just cross your fingers.
Can.......they can win, provided sven resign immediately.
And someone to lead the team on the field, they are like Real Mardrid , all super star. They need to have the winning mentality, some are too individualistic.
You are right. Although the team seems united but their play kinda betrays an underlying level of individualism (either that or the Sven had bad tactics). Just a couple of observation from the past two matches:Originally posted by T.Ryousuke:For those who bet on England to win, just cross your fingers.

odds eight to one, and I will bet ever cents I have and sell my house and my car and my wife to place the bet but but but... what if Becks was injured for example? or something even simply, they all go out of form at the finals?Originally posted by mrwonderful:If you're a diehard fan of England and so certain it will win why not show ur support and prove yourself right by betting all ur $ on england to win. i think the oddds are good as everybody is betting on brazil or germany or other to win.
ahhh.... that is correct, the reason is that they are not trying... they are not arrogant like the Args... score 6-0 for what? Unless they place bets for themselves at 1-85 for 6-0 score line.Originally posted by JLennon:You are right. Although the team seems united but their play kinda betrays an underlying level of individualism (either that or the Sven had bad tactics). Just a couple of observation from the past two matches:
1. Overlapping runs by Ashley Cole were not utilised by Joe Cole. It could possibly be a tactic to draw players away from J Cole but I hardly noticed any occassion where J Cole will pass the ball to A Cole to deliver a cross.
2. Carragher isn't a great crosser of the ball and there were several instances (before he was subbed) where he could have passed the ball down the flank to Beckham to cross. Instead his attempts at crossing did not reap rewards.
3. Argentina's midfield communicates by passing the ball around the midfielders. That's something not witnessed between Gerrard and Lampard.
England's midfield looks good on paper but not in practice and as a result Owen suffers from lack of service.
