Poolman, England's record in penalty taking is not something that one can find any assurance. In fact, I dread it if ever goes down to that... -

As much an England supporter I am as you are, its hard for me to fathom how they can cruise through the finals with the insipid performances they have put so far. Cannot possible rely on Crouch and Rooney all the time. Need to have depth in the squad in case of loss of form or injuries. Hopefully they may just emulate Italy in 1982 coming good at the later stages. -
Actually, yeah England have a slim chance of winning the World Cup after seeing the other participating teams in action especially red hot Argentina! But there is a possibility of them winning and like the threadstarter say, its by their defensive play. Winning by penalty kicks? Not too sure about that.. Hehe..
