I think those who curse that England to be knock out early in the competition are hypocrites
Why? How many here watch and follow Serie A or la Liga closer than they do to the EPL?
They say they support Chelsea/Manu/Arsenal/Liverpool/Spurs and like players like Terry/Lampard/Cole/Ferdinand/Gerrard/Robinson/Rooney
But they say they will celebrate when England lose, No harm in that. But they say they don't like England because they are arrogant? Hello! Your fav players are playing for england, Are you saying your fav players are arrogant which in turn mean that players like Lampard/Terry/Gerrard/Rooney who are star players of your supported clubs are arrogant meaning your team is arrogant and everyone deserve to take a smack at them?
Don't stack on "Oh.. I celebrate when England lose" kind of feeling because 4 postors in the thread already say they don't like England.
It's dumb, And I saw a very dumb reply in the anti-england thread that I feel sorry for the postor

Don't be too upset over it..... different folks have different preference and dislikes. as much as i admire and watch argentina play, i dislike them as much as some of the other chaps dislike england.
anyway, supporting a country is different from supporting a team at club level.

EPL is flooded with so many foreign players, perhaps it's the foreign players in teams like manu, arsenal, chelsea etc that people like that's why they r supporting their national team instead.
The most popular players in the arsenal team for example are players like hendry who play for france, van persie, bergkamp (retired) for holland, swiss, ivory coast, togo blablabla..
i particularly dislike some of the EPL players like bowyer, dyer, rio ferdinand, lampard, woodgate, ashley cole etc.
the kind obsessed with fashion and playboy lifestyle, racist blablabla.
i don't know, maybe players in other teams in other leagues also have a lot of this kind of players.
it's up to personal perference lah, everyone have their own preferences. -
i'm wif barcelona, n watch only la liga. unless there r big clashes in the epl otherwise i dun follow epl at all...
i'm nt anti england but i think they r an overrated team. all the hype abt them over the yrs and no results in competitions.
the players avaliable are so pathetic that they hv to bring walcott in. -

I don't really dislike England but I detest Sven-Goran Eriksson and his money-grabbing, philandering ways and his sheer incompetence and paucity of tactical nous. In my opinion he's just the worst manager England ever had, even worse than Glenn Hoddle.

so no need to get upset, lah. the truth is tt national team sucks, based on how they are (over)rated in the clubs they play, (over)paid by the clubs they represents, etc.
e.g. owen's roi for newcastle is `pui'. terry, while good, will never be paid the kind of money chel$ki paid, rio, less said the better.
only gerrard, carragher are value for money. gerrard can turn a match single-handedly and carragher will deliver no matter what... ingerland just has to be smarter on how to use them. but sven ain't rafa, so... -

I supported England cos there is no team that deserve to be supported by me . Not even Brazil and France .
Maybe , to be fair , i support teams that has some Liverpool players in it , teams use to be like Czech Republic when they have players like Baros , Smicer and Berger .

Since you are a Barcelona fan, the hype about Spain over the yrs are definitely no lesser than England's. If you can speak and read spainish... Spain is very popular in countries that use spainish language. So to say england is over-rated i don't think so. They may not be the best team in the world but they are still a good team like Top 10... ( Fifa"s seeded team for group B from A - H) People like pele, maradonna knows what they are talking about when they say players like Terry, Gerrard, Lampard, Owen, Rooney are good.
Like i said, If you were a spainish reader, you would be reading, hearing & seeing the spainish team much more and they have been hugely disappointing over the years. In the south american countries, they follow the la liga for obvious reasons as they speak the same language. Teams like Real M & Barce is more popular than those we know from the Premiership. -
England is just grossly over-rated.........just as Singapore is grossly under-supported by their own countrymen.

I dont follow EPL. I follow Serie A and La Liga. I support Argentina. I won't say I'm anti-England. I'm not even interested in the team in the first place to have an anti feeling towards them.

Just take table tennis, countries like USA, Australia, UK plus Singapore are heavily relying on players from PRC.

In their first appearance, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to a semi-pro USA national team and was knocked out in the group stage. The win by the US against the English in that match goes down in history as one of the biggest upsets in WC.
