After watching him for the first time last night, i think he is overrated. Not a bad player but with so much talk about him, experted more but turn-out not even better than Joe cole. So i don't see the point in fighting to get him. There are better players around...

Yeah that Ribery guy didn't look too impressive last night. He was largely ineffective, lacked rapport and understanding with Zidane and Henry. But then it was only one match, and he might have been over-awed by the occasion and the likes of Zidane. Let's hope he gets a chance to show what he's really capable of in the next match.
By the way, I kept wondering why Domenech didn't use David Trezeguet. It was clear that their strike force was rather rusty. Louis Saha came on but didn't make any impact at all. Surely Trezeguet could've done better? -
