Imagine Carlos Alberto fielding a 3-3-4 formation in each match.
It does look like european defensive steel and lightning counter-attacks is the only way to adequately force Brazil on the backfoot as there isn't likely to be another team with the offensive flair of the Samba boys.

Can does not necessarily = WILL. So hope is at this moment the best word to use

I think possibly Italy. Put a man on Ronaldinho and play one striker upfront with Totti in a withdrawn midfield role.

Someone with a tight defence will have a good chance...defend throughout the game...then beat them in penalties..
Otherwise, the only other team that can beat Brazil is Brazil.

Not sure if the Confederations cup makes a difference. But Mexico did an excellent job to beat in that competition. I feel that the way to beat Brazil, is to destroy their play, instead of attack vs attack. Of course defend must hold firm. The theory of attack is the best defence doesn't apply to playing against Brazil. To me, Italy stands a chance. They are great in destroying play.

reminds me of years ago, i play Fifa 98. i used Singapore and beat Brazil in the world cup.
