Rosicky To Arsenal Deal Almost Done!

Tomas Rosicky is expected to announce he has sealed a move to Arsenal at a press conference on Tuesday.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder underwent medicals with the North Londoners and Czech Republic sources claim he agreed a contract on Monday night.
After activating a clause in his contract to leave Dortmund for £6.8 million, he has had a number of clubs pursuing his signature but is due to reveal details of the move alongside agent Pavel Paska in Austria, where Czech Republic are holding their World Cup preparation camp.
"There have been about 70 clubs interested and the move to Arsenal would be a big kind of encouragement before the World Cup finals start," Czech coach Karel Bruckner revealed to CTK.
Atletico Madrid were in pole position to land the 25-year-old but their negotiations collapsed this week.
Arsenal also signed Jens Lehmann from Dortmund and Rosicky scored against Arsenal whilst with Sparta Prague, in the 2000 UEFA Champions League.
Rosicky is likely to be a replacement for Robert Pires, who is out of contract and interesting Villarreal, so Opta compared the two players' statistics. -

Czech playmaker Rosicky signs for Arsenal
Arsenal have completed the signing of midfielder Tomas Rosicky from Borussia Dortmund.
The 25-year-old Czech Republic international has joined on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.
Rosicky said: 'I'm really happy to be here at Arsenal, it is a great day for me.'
Rosicky, who will join up with his new team-mates after competing in this summer's World Cup, continued: 'The team showed their strength recently in the Champions League and have big potential with a lot of young players - I think we can be even better next season.
'This is the best club in Europe and I will give everything.'
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: 'We are delighted to welcome Tomas to our squad.
'He has great technique, skill on the ball and sharp passing.
'Tomas has good experience at all levels for club and country, and we look forward to welcoming him to Arsenal after what will hopefully be a successful summer for him at the World Cup.'
Czech Republic coach Karel Bruckner yesterday revealed that Rosicky was allowed to leave the training camp in Austria to finalise the transfer, after passing a medical and agreeing terms.
Rosicky, who has made 31 appearances in the Champions League for Borussia Dortmund and Sparta Prague, had been expected to sign for Atletico Madrid.
He secured World Cup football for the Czechs this summer by scoring the winning goal in the decisive qualifying play-off second leg against Norway.
The player cost Dortmund £18million when he joined from Sparta Prague in 2001 - a Bundesliga record - but the fee for his switch to Highbury is believed to be around the £7million mark. -
This is a excellent buy for Arsenal and great addition to the squad.
At 25 still, he has experienced International and CL footbal and that will rub off to the young guns. His profile wasn't very high cos mainly playing in Budesliga. While he has great technique and superb vision.. he also has good mental strength and a determined player as well. He'll fit well in EPL.
He was in LFC's radar before but somehow.. Benni seems to prefer Spanish boys.

reminds me of sebastian diesler...same type of player...different mental strength.. -
What Arsenal need to do now is sell adebayor, and the reserve gk.

Dun sell adebayor..he can be use for backup. Sell CYGAN for sure n almunia..so mart poom will have a chance to be a 2nd choice keeper and sell lauren off too..

Sell off lauren? i think u r naive. Eboue was totally outplayed at CL Final. It shows he was inexperienced. And his finishing pass or shoot is too lousy. All he did was create panic in the rival own half with his running. He needs more experience.
Adebayor was abit like Kanu? ya, the lousy part
Aniway Kanu cant even perform at west borm. So anione who plays like kanu is doomed for EPL
If we use adebayor for backup, the same thing will happen again, at crucial point, he miss simple chances. -

Tomas Rosicky's agent has confirmed Chelsea almost signed Arsenal's new boy.
The Czech international was a big target for the English champions back in 2004, and The Blues bid €18 million (£12 million) for his services - nearly twice as much as Arsenal are believed to have paid Borussia Dortmund.
Pavel Paska has confirmed that Chelsea would not meet Borussia's demands.
"Chelsea once offered Dortmund €18 million but Borussia demanded €22 million so the deal went wrong," Paska told Sport.
Rosicky, who sealed his move on Tuesday, was delighted to have finally ended the speculation surrounding his future.
"I am happy the transfer speculations are gone, from now on I can fully concentrate on the World Cup," said Rosicky.
"Arsenal is the best thing that could happen to me, I have always dreamt about such a club.
"Everybody can see their attractive style of playing football. In my opinion, Europe´s best two clubs met in the UEFA Champions League final this year.
"I have signed for a top club in a top competition because I want to improve my abilities. And what else would make me better than playing for Arsenal? I am not lazy, otherwise I might easily stay in Dortmund until the end of my career."
Rosicky, who normally wears number 10, insists he has not even thought about such an issue.
"We have not talked about it at all, I don´t care. If they give me 79, I will gladly take it," he added.
The Little Mozart also confirmed the appeal of working with Arsene Wenger.
"We were in London on Sunday evening. We met with Arsene Wenger and vice-president David Dein. My agent Pavel Paska held talks over the contract with David Dein and I talked with Mr Wenger about football.
"He made a very good impression on me but I would not like to reveal any more. It is only between the two of us."
