9.76s Gatlin sets new 100m world record

  American sprinter, Justin Gatlin broke the 100-meter record last Friday with a time of 9.76 seconds at the Qatar Grand Prix. The previous record was 9.77s set by Jamaica's Asafa Powell on June 14, 2005, in Athens, Greece.

  sprinters are very fast in running short distance. for long distance, that's a different question.

  hahaha.... thats y they are called sprinters. look at there hamstring, u cun expect them to carry it n run a few km.

  lol its about 40km/h +- , but its aroudn 10 sec only because starting they slow down a lot

  lol record no more..the officials timed wrongly...he clocked 9.766 seconds, which is rounded up to 9.77 secs instead
