When their reason for placing an anti-missile base and radar station on Russia's borders is defence against Iran, which is more than 3 times further away from Europe than the maximum range of its Shahab-3 missile.
Quite a lot of things seem to have happen with Bush at the helms....

That one you'll have to thank the Western Powers back in the days of the break-up of USSR.

most important question will be... then area 51 under who??? v
Bush is too dumb to engage in geostrategy. I attribute whatever crisis to the people around him running the show, like Dick "Darth Vadar" Cheney.
I think presidents arent even informed about "black" projects being conducted by the Pentagon at Area 51, DARPA etc.

Obama struck me as charismatic, photogenic.....and that's all.
Maybe its because I haven't seen what he can do.
But I figured McCain would be much better at foreign affairs, given he had his fair share as a POW.
But then I have little faith in his economic talk. Not that I have a lot in Obama either. Hmm...at least Clinton had a direction in that field and achieved it (jobs jobs jobs!)
Yeah....like freedomclub says we will just wait and see.

Oh pls...Mccain doing a better job? He will only screw things up further in the middle east by continuing the Bush failed policies in Iraq. And given his military background, he has a rather shallow minded view of the world and how diplomacy works.
Talking about photogenic, Sarah Palin fits the bill more than Obama.
And Obama now has Clinton as his secretary of state and has assembled an economic dream team, something Mccain would not have been able to do f he were to be the president.
I forsee 2009 to be a very good year for international relations between foreign governments with Obama as a US president.
haha, don't know where this prof Panarin purchased his phd from.
How can US fall apart so soon?
It is true that US is facing a terrible financial situation, some people even said that was the reason they choose a blackman to become their president, in order to push the blame to the colored. The worst situation is that some states declare bankruptcy, some social unrest, no money to send their army out for bully mission.
He probably think the samething happened to Soviet will happen in US.

Hrm, the way i see it Bush's policies have already taken a momentum of its own in the Middle east. I don't see how Obama's going to be able to do much to affect it, the American people are already too hyped up on the fear of the crazy terrorists who hate America's Freedom and Democracy.
On the other hand, the hate for America in the Middle East is no longer able to be resolved by just American forces pulling out. They won't forget it, and they would hit back any chance they get.
And the vicious circle continues.....
You view it as the economic dream team, but i see it as the appointment of people who propagated the problem in the first place. Though his appointment of Steven Chu as Energy Secretary is a surprise, a scientist actually in a place of political power?
While i do see Obama improving international relations with the world, the American people as a whole (From my impression) still sees their way of life as the non negotiable way of life for everyone else, despite it causing so much problems for the rest of the world.
Obama's real problem is not going to be with the world, it's going to be with his own people.

Change? Obama Inner Circle Filled With Bilderbergers
By Victor Thorn
http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/obama_bilderbergers_160.html
FOR TWO YEARS, Americans have heard an unrelenting mantra of change
emanating from the campaign trail. But now that President-elect Barack
Obama has begun forming his cabinet, we’re seeing a cadre of more
deeply entrenched insiders than any administration that has preceded it.
In
regard to key foreign policy advisors, all three of Obama’s selections
either initially supported the Iraq war, or still do. On the economic
front, each appointee maintains a close relationship with the Jewish
triad of Ben Bernanke, Robert Rubin and Alan Greenspan—as well as
bailout engineer Henry Paulson. Barack Obama himself is a Council on
Foreign Relations member, has strong ties to Zbigniew Brzezinski, and
participated in a clandestine meeting with Hillary Clinton at
Bilderberg member Diane Feinstein’s house at the time when 2008
Bilderberg members were congregating only a few miles away.
Below
is an overview of Obama’s top 14 selections to date. When considering
their collective histories, a trend becomes clear, proving that the
more things change under Obama, the more they stay the same.

Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, president and CEO of Federal
Reserve Bank of New York, director of policy development for IMF,

Directors for Freddie Mac, member of Bill Clinton’s finance campaign
committee, made $16.2 million during 2.5 years as an investment banker
for Wasserstein Perella. His father was a member of the Israeli Irgun
terrorist group.

Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, treasury secretary
during Clinton administration, chief economist at World Bank, former
president of Harvard University, Brookings Institute board member, huge
proponent of globalization while working for the IMF, protg of David
Rockefeller, mentored by Robert Rubin.
5. DAVID AXELROD – SENIOR ADVISOR
Political
consultant whose past clients include Sens. Hillary Clinton, John
Edwards and Christopher Dodd; main Obama fixer in the William Ayers and
Reverend Wright scandals.

asset used to infiltrate the anti-war movement at Yale University and
the Watergate hearings, senior partner at the Rose Law Firm, key figure

In terms of foreign policy, it's clear that Obama will follow in Bush's steps.
Obama, Bush Find Common Ground on Foreign Policy- http://www.metimes.com/Opinion/2008/12/18/obama_bush_find_common_ground_on_foreign_policy/1465/
Because Obama doesnt want to admit that the War on Terror is just an excuse to project US power around the world, built on the lie of 9/11, any "change" will only be superficial. As to the economic crisis, as long as Obama continues to support the fraudulent Fed system, the financial state of the American people will continue to worsen and they'll plunge deeper into economic slavery. No surprise, because he is part of the establishment.

I pity those Americans.....
Every four years, something intangible called "hope" gets crushed.
Cos they are too narrow in their hearts to accept the facts....
This problem is universal. Too many examples to use.
Anyway, we arent far off as well.
