KUALA LUMPUR: The United States has congratulated Malaysia in conjunction with the country's 53rd Independence Day tomorrow.
In a statement issued by the US embassy here, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the US looked forward to continuing and expanding partnership with Malaysia and strengthen ties in the region.
"On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I congratulate the people of Malaysia on your 53rd National Day this Aug 31.
"Our long history of cultural and educational exchanges have fostered a strong understanding between Malaysians and Americans, and our cooperation on economic and security matters contributes to stability and prosperity throughout Southeast Asia and beyond," she said.
