Cardiff vs Arsenal
time: 8pm SG Time, 25th Jan 09
Venue: Ninian Park
2008 FA Cup runners-up Cardiff City welcome Arsenal to Ninian Park in the fourth round of the competition on Sunday.
Championship club Cardiff suffered heartbreak at Wembley last May as Portsmouth claimed a 1-0 triumph.
The Bluebirds currently sit in the play-off places in England's second tier and are unbeaten in nine outings.
Dave Jones' side defeated Reading in round three, while Arsenal saw off Plymouth Argyle.
Cardiff midfielder Peter Whittingham faces a late fitness test on a hamstring injury, but Paul Parry has recovered and should be available.
The likes of Tony Capaldi, Eddie Johnson, Stephen McPhail and Riccardo Scimeca are all pushing for starts after impressing for the club's second string during midweek.
The FA Cup could present Arsenal with their most realistic chance of silverware this term, and manager Arsene Wenger is likely to deploy a strong side.
Poland international Lukasz Fabianski will resume his role as the club's Cup goalkeeper, but left-back Gael Clichy misses out through suspension.
Defender William Gallas is back in full training after his hamstring injury but will not be risked in the Welsh capital, while the game comes too soon for striker Eduardo.
The North London side will head into the encounter confident of progression after failing to make it past the fourth round only once since the 2000/01 season.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey admits he will have 'mixed emotions' when he returns to Cardiff City in the FA Cup fourth-round tie on Sunday.
Ramsey left the Bluebirds in the summer, signing for Premier League side Arsenal for a fee in the region of £5million.
The Welshman's last appearance for Cardiff came in the FA Cup final, when the Championship side suffered heartache against Portsmouth at Wembley.
Ramsey is poised to start at Ninian Park this weekend, and, while he has fond memories of his time in the Welsh capital, he is now focused on lifting silverware with the Gunners.
"Cardiff was a big part of my life. I was there for a long time," the 18-year-old told Arsenal's official website.
"I came through the youth system there and went on to get into the first team, so it will be mixed emotions for me on Sunday - but I am an Arsenal player now and I want to win the game."
Ramsey added: "I had a good cup run with Cardiff, getting to the final last year, so that was a great experience for me.
"This season for Arsenal, I started the match against Plymouth in the last round and we got through, so I think the FA Cup has been good to me so far.
"Hopefully, I will get another chance to play on Sunday, show what I can do and stake my claim for a place in the team, and I can get to the final with Arsenal this year."
