Manuel Almunia has urged his team-mates to find the 'real Arsenal' after conceding they have recently 'lost their way'.
The Gunners face a daunting task in hauling themselves back into the title race after falling 10 points behind leaders Liverpool.
Arsenal are without a trophy since 2005, and Almunia admits the club must rediscover their winning mentality in order to claim glory once again.
The Spaniard said: "We have shown good character, but we still have a little more to go to find the real Arsenal.
"The main thing is to look for our identity, our way, our character that gave this club all their titles and trophies.
"For whatever reason we lost our way, our character and the way we play on the pitch. We need to re-find our spirit and our desire to win games."
lol. fancy almunia demanding the real arsenal. it was his fault that we have the worst defensive record ever in the past 8 years, conceding more than 1.1 goals a game. he is rather small as a keeper. we need someone domineering, more experienced and of better quality like sebastien frey or craig gordon.
