TOHARI: Arsene Wenger scored a major tactical victory on this occasion.
The transition from defence to attack is so important and while both teams were committed to attacking football, Arsenal were the ones who took their chances.
Without regular strikers Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin van Persie, their five-man midfield did so well to neutralise Manchester United's attacking threat.
On the other hand, fielding Park Ji Sung and Michael Carrick made United look a bit lightweight in midfield. I would have started with Ryan Giggs and John O'Shea, since Darren Fletcher was an injury doubt.
Cesc Fabregas, Denilson, Samir Nasri and Theo Walcott were all over United's midfield. Nicklas Bendtner and Abou Diaby merely served as decoys, creating space for Fabregas and Nasri to attack with deadly effect.
United created their fair share of opportunities because of their tremendous quality. But when Wayne Rooney missed that big chance in the 18th minute and then Cristiano Ronaldo in the 49th minute, it didn't look like it was going to be their day.
