The Ghana
international spent much of last week on trial at Ewood Park, with his
current club IK Start, resigned to letting the highly-rated 22-year old
leave the club.
Despite impressing during his stay in
Lancashire, Rovers manager Paul Ince refused to conclude a deal while
he continued his other transfer pursuits, prompting Annan to opt to
leave the club and try to tempt other English clubs into signing him.
And
Wenger, who has seen the likes of Mathieu Flamini, Alexsander Hleb and
Gilberto Silva leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, has offered the
player a trial at Arsenal with a view to a permanent deal.
Annan
is likely to cost around £1.5 million, an amount that Wenger can more
than finance with the remainder of his transfer budget.
