Arsenal are in desperate need of a top class centre midfielder following the exits of Gilberto Silva, Aliaksandr Hleb and Mathieu Flamini.
The Gunners have been linked with a whole host of names, including Gareth Barry, Miguel Veloso, Marcos Senna, Torsten Frings, Yaya Touré, and even Xabi Alonso.
The North Londoners have also been associated with Inler in recent weeks, and The People now claims that the club have re-entered the race to sign him, along with Newcastle.
The 24-year-old Inler was a virtual unknown when he signed for Udinese from FC Zurich last year, however the midfielder had a superb first season in Serie A, and earned widespread praise from the critics.
Inler’s fine performances have led to interest from a number of other big European teams, including Liverpool, Juventus and Inter, however most recently there were reports in the English and Italian press that the player could be set for a move to Newcastle United.
Only a couple of weeks ago Inler revealed his intention to stay at Udinese, stating: “My head is at Udinese. I want to have a good season with my team.”
However, were Arsenal to table an official bid for the Swiss star, it remains to be seen whether he could turn down a move to the Emirate Stadium.
who the hell is tat?
he's not bad, quite impressive in euro 2008
tink wenger should get seasoned player...
So far Arsene Wenger has been unsuccessful but, according to sources in Italy and England, ‘The Professor’ is set to go all out to sign highly-rated Udinese schemer Inler.
The 24-year-old has seen his stock rise over the past 12 months after a superb debut season in Serie A with Udinese.
Inler, who has been linked with a move to giants such as Liverpool, Juventus and Inter, has a £5m release clause in his contract that Wenger is ready to meet.
hope he sign the players he wan asap cos season starting n they need to get use to the team n place...
Reports in both Italy and England
claimed that the Gunners were ready close to prizing the player away from the stadio
Friuli and towards the Emirates.
The 24-year old has been impressive
for the Bianconeri and Arsene Wenger was looking at him as a possible replacement
for Matthieu Flamini who left for Milan.
However, it doesn’t seem likely
that Inler will join the Premier League club after the chief’s latest revelations
which are set to disappoint fans in North London.
“It’s nonsense, the usual rumours
which don’t even deserve to be laughed at,” said Leonardi.
“Even the player has said that
none of this is true.”
Inler was influential last season
and his consistency in the centre of midfield ensured his side qualified for the
UEFA Cup.
He is an important part of Pasquale
Marino’s plans and he seems set to continue taking Serie A by storm.

Inler's agent, Dino
Lamberti, claims he will be travelling to London next week to speak to
Arsenal, although he admits the Gunners have not tabled a bid as yet.
"I'm due to go to London and take a look over everything, but no deal has been done yet with Arsenal," Lamberti told reporters.
"It is difficult for us to take a decision, but Arsenal is certainly something that Gokhan needs to look at.
"[Arsenal manager Arsene] Wenger is someone who helps young players go forward," he added.
Inler has previously been linked with a possible £10million transfer to Arsenal, who have seen experienced midfielders Mathieu Flamini, Gilberto Silva and Alexander Hleb leave Ashburton Grove this summer.
However, Udinese are saying that Inler will not be leaving.
