According to the Mail on Sunday, Kevin Keegan has offered Arsenal £4 million for the centre back, an offer which the Arsenal board are willing to consider although it is thought they will hold out for £6 million.
The paper suggests the news is unlikely to please manager Arsene Wenger who is facing an uneasy summer at the Emirates having already seen Flamini, Hleb, Silva and Lehmann leave the club and with Adebayor’s future also uncertain.
Despite not being a first choice at Arsenal, Senderos is an important part of the squad and may be needed at the start of the season especially as Kolo Toure is currently suffering with malaria and could potentially miss Arsenal’s opening games.
Senderos joined Arsenal in 2003 from Swiss side Servette but has struggled to force his way into the first team at the Emirates and made only 14 league starts last season. He also suffered a miserable end to the season as he was largely blamed for Arsenal’s Champions League exit to Liverpool.
However, Senderos was part of Switzerland’s Euro 2008 squad and put in some decent performances as well as being an ever present in a weak Swiss side which finished bottom of Group A.
