According to News of the World, the Republic of Ireland international has intimated his desire to win trophies – an aim he believes the Gunners are better equipped to help him achieve.
The 32-year-old has been consistently linked with the North London side since Jens Lehmann returned to his native Germany earlier in the summer, although speculation initially died down after Arsene Wenger handed Manuel Almunia the No. 1 jersey.
