Wenger eyes Portuguese ace

Arsene Wenger is ready to snap up the poor man's Cristiano Ronaldo for a knockdown price if Portuguese giants Porto are relegated in a match-fixing probe, writes DAVE KIDD.
The Arsenal boss is a confirmed admirer of Porto winger Ricardo Quaresma and is aware that the Portugal international could be available for as little as £5million this summer.
League leaders Porto face relegation after the Portuguese FA announced this week that they are investigating club president Pinto da Costa, who is alleged to have bribed referees during Jose Mourinho's time as manager of the club.
And if the club are forced out of the top flight, they will be forced to sell prized asset Quaresma, 25, who has been targeted by Arsenal and Liverpool as well as Spanish side Atletico Madrid and Italians Lazio.
Wenger is keen to add a genuine wideman to his squad and Quaresma, a right-footer who usually plays on the left flank for both club and country, fits the bill.

He'll bring in some other "future" player. Le boss sometimes need to wake up. Quaresma will be a great asset to our squad. Rosicky has a brittle pair of legs and Eboue is just Ebouseless.

5mil is a real bargain for him man. chelsea wanted to buy him last season but the 25mil price tag put them off.
