Burnley have signed teenage Arsenal midfielder Mark Randall on loan until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old has made four Carling Cup appearances for the Gunners but is yet to feature in the Premier League.
"He is a tremendous addition for this club and I am sure he will go on to have an outstanding career," Clarets manager Owen Coyle enthused.
However, Coyle has revealed that they are unlikely to sign Galatasaray midfielder Marcelo Carrusca on loan.
The deal appears to have stalled after a difference of opinion between the Argentine player and his Turkish club.
"We'd put a very good offer to bring the player on loan," Coyle told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"He'd have been a great addition, but we'll take our disappointment and move on.
The 24-year-old has played for his country at Under-20 level.
