Arsenal are to offer William Gallas a new contract that will keep the French international at the club for the rest of his career.
Gallas has made a huge impression since he was made captain at the beginning of the season - his second at the Emirates.
Manager Arsene Wenger now wants to keep that positive influence at the club for the next three years.
Gallas (right), signed from Chelsea in 2006, has two years left on his current deal.

Arsenal want to keep him for at least 12 months longer than that and a new contract which will be take Gallas, 30, into the £65,000-a-week bracket will be on the table before the end of the season.
