Arsenal captain William Gallas is confident that the Gunners can maintain their impressive form - and their lead at the top of the Premier League - until the end of the season. With Arsenal currently leading the Barclays Premier League by two points from champions Manchester United, and with Chelsea a further four points adrift. Arsenal captain William Gallas expects the race for the Premier League title to go right to the wire - but he's confident his team-mates can maintain their strong first-half performance in the second-half of the season.
Gallas is set to return to the starting XI for Saturday's Premier League fixture against Birmingham City at the Emirates Stadium, after having been rested - along with many other first team regulars - for the cup clashes against Burnley last Sunday and Tottenham on Wednesday.
And he said: "The fact we are still top sends a message that we are strong, but we know that Manchester United and also Chelsea are still there also.
"It will be close all season, but we must realise everything is in our hands.
"I hope to be back in the team for the Birmingham game, and I think that we will be really fresh for that, having missed the last couple of games.
"We still have a long way to go this season and I am sure everybody will be ready for it, because we have to be."
