Queens Park Rangers have continued their spending spree with the signing of Matthew Connolly from Arsenal.
Connolly has agreed a three-and-a-half year contract at Loftus Road after spending the first half of the season on loan at Colchester United.
He made 16 Championship appearances for Colchester and is now relishing the chance to forge a career at Loftus Road.
"It's very difficult to make the breakthrough at a club like Arsenal, so when QPR made an offer I knew it was the right time to move on," Connolly told the club's official website.
Fantastic
"Arsenal provided me with a great launch pad, but I need to be playing first-team football at my age and this is a fantastic club for me to pursue my career at.
"I know what the Championship is all about after my spell at Colchester United and I'm delighted to be part of what appears to be a very bright future at this football club."
QPR's capture of Connolly follows on from the deal to sign Hogan Ephraim on a three-and-a-half year contract from West Ham United.
Luigi De Canio has also arranged a swoop for Preston North End striker Patrick Agyemang, who is discussing a switch to the R's.
