ArsenalÂ’s Wenger: Clichy Is Awesome

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has acknowledged that Gael Clichy has come to a level where ‘he has no more gaps in his play’.
The 22-year-old has filled in the void left by England left-back Ashley ColeÂ’s move to Chelsea in the summer of 2006, with aplomb and on the New YearÂ’s Day the Frenchman showed his class in the 2-0 win over West Ham United.
Wenger told L'Equipe: "He assisted Adebayor, after the last one against Everton, which means two in two matches.
"Actually, his improvement has been quite steady. Today we can notice he has no more gaps in his play.
"He is awesome in the quality of his passes, in his long passes, in his technical level. He can get out of any situation.
"I would say now he looks experienced. He really achieved a great last match."
Only thing is he needs to improve on his crossing and he must be brave to shoot from distance -

i've never seen anyone dribble past him. for entire games he remains super reliable. defence-wise, i think he is world class.
point to note: his amazing speed. i can remember several times that saved almunia, who shows his appreciation
truth is though: i would admit ashley cole was the better one going forward. knowing when cutting in would be effective and slipping little clever balls.
however clichy is still good compared to other left backs attack wise. who's the french left back anyway? -
wtf read through the posts and it's fucking evra? gawd i have no idea how man u's backline was selected by TNP to be the team of the season. evra can only run fast, he's weak and falls easily. can't defend, i rmb him clashing into heinze, something that made me laugh as kaka scored. he is frequently out of position. the only thing he has over clichy is slightly better attacking.

Yeah cashley is a better LB compared to clichy in terms of when to go forward and when it shuldnt. Myb clichy's stil lyoung. 1 thing that compliment clichy will be his tremendous pace and agility.
when u get that awesome speed, u can outrun ur opponents but ur opponents finds it hard to outrun u, giving u time to play with the ball.
I believe he must try to attempt to take shots from outside the box like what pires did. His ball distribution into the six yard box must also be improved.
Judging from his age and his current performance, hes amazing.
