Theo Walcott has revealed Arsene Wenger has urged him to add some aggression to his game.
Walcott is one of the few English players in WengerÂ’s ranks at Arsenal, but he has been a bit-part player despite making a bright start to the season.
Walcott held talks with Wenger about his future in October and the Frenchman made it clear that he wants the flying forward to add a spark to his game.
”I am still young and it was a bit daunting going up to him,” said Walcott of his meeting with Wenger. “It was a bit like going to the headmaster’s study.
”I spoke to the boss and he wanted me to be a bit more aggressive, running at players, doing the stuff he bought me for.”
Walcott may be frustrated with his lack of action of late, but he still holds Wenger in the highest regard.
”The manager is the reason I joined Arsenal,” added the former Southampton man.
