Arsenal clinched a 2-1 victory at Villa Park to extend their lead at the top of the table. Flamini and Adebayor scored, but it was Hleb who really stood out.
Arsenal duo Mathieu Flamini and Emmanuel Adebayor both scored as the Gunners earned a 2-1 victory away to Aston Villa on Saturday.
Speaking after the game, both paid tribute to Belarusian midfielder Alexander Hleb, who produced an electric display in the first half.
Hleb One Of The Greatest
"He is a very good footballer, we know that, he is one of the main players in the squad," Adebayor told Setanta Sports after the game.
"He has the technique, he has the ability and I think he is one of the greatest players I have played with."
Blossoming Form
The former Stuttgart midfielder has blossomed this season, and his form is one reason the Gunners are so red hot in this campaign.
"I am happy to be in this squad and we have a lot of good players, and we are very happy about the way he played," continued Adebayor.
Injury Concern
Arsenal's performance dipped dramatically in the second half of the game, in no small part due to Hleb needing to leave the field after a nasty tackle from John Carew.
"He is a good friend of mine and he played very well today," said Flamini of the Belarusian. "I hope he has not got a big injury and I hope he will be ready for Wednesday (against Newcastle) because he is an important player for us."
