Justin Hoyte joined former Arsenal players Perry Groves and Paul Davis at the first 'Show Racism the Red Card' event to be held at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
Celebrating 11 years of the scheme, the event launched the initiative's Arsenal squad poster and Project Summary DVD.
Local schoolchildren were in attendance and were given the opportunity to ask questions of the esteemed panel.
'Show Racism the Red Card' was launched in Project Co-ordinator Ged Grebby's home town of Newcastle, and the first event of its kind enlisted the services of players Shaka Hislop and John Beresford.
"Show Racism the Red Card harnesses the high profile of professional footballers to combat racism in society," said Grebby. "We use footballers as anti-racist role models in our educational resources, which have been acclaimed throughout Europe.
"This particular event launches our new resource to get more councils and football clubs engaged with our campaign."
Arsenal defender Hoyte added, "I think it is very important for me and fellow players to put our names to a scheme like this.
"Being a black player myself and having experienced racial abuse it is good that I joined the scheme and help to stamp out racism in football. In England I feel we are doing a great job at that."
