Lehmann has not played for Arsenal since the 1-1 draw at Blackburn in August. Injury kept him out originally, but now the German is fit and desperate to return, particularly as Germany play Euro 2008 qualifiers against Cyprus next Saturday and Wales a week on Wednesday.
Manuel Almunia has retained his place since August and even when manager Arsene Wenger made several changes for the Champions League tie in Prague last week, Lehmann remained on the bench.
Lehmann has been warned he needs to be playing first-team football if he is to remain first-choice goalkeeper for his country but Wenger was giving little away.
Asked if the German will start at the Madejski Stadium, Wenger said: "Come to the game, you will see. I do not want always to make a case especially about that. It could be Almunia, it could be someone else.
"You will not find any manager who says it's easy to leave a player out. No matter who you choose you have to leave one out."
Both Kolo Toure and Tomas Rosicky, who missed the 0-0 draw against Slavia Prague, return, as should Cesc Fabregas and Alexander Hleb, who were rested.
