Arsenal lead the Premiership after winning every game bar one draw against Blackburn.
The former Saints wizard now Sky Sports pundit, admitted that before the season started he firmly believed Arsenal would struggle,
“I'm glad to say Arsenal have proved me completely and utterly wrong so far this season.”
“I did think they would struggle to make the top four, but on current form, you would have to say they are going to be challenging for the title, never mind those Champions League places.”
Le Tissier, an ex-player renowned for stylistic football in his day, also appreciates the manner in which Arsenal are taking charge both domestically and in Europe,
“Personally I still think Manchester United have enough strength in depth to overhaul them and retain their Premier League title, but the football Arsene Wenger's side is playing right now is just unbelievable.”
“I am delighted as well, because I do like Arsene Wenger and what he stands for.”
“I'm happy they are proving me wrong, because I love watching Cesc Fabregas pull the strings in midfield, I love the way Arsenal pass the ball so well and I like the way this young team seems to have matured this season.”
However, Le Tissier issued a warning to the Gunners that everyone will be eager to see how they hold-up against Liverpool this weekend, a game that many consider their first real test of the season.
“That said, this [Liverpool] will be the first real test of their title credentials.”
"They did play Tottenham when they were going quite well and they have played Manchester City, but that was at home, and both games you would've expected them to win.”
“But Anfield, against a Liverpool side who lost in midweek?
“Now we will see just how far Wenger's youngsters have come.”
Indeed this is big test. we must and MUST win this one.
