*Bierhoff warns Lehmann*
Germany team manager Oliver Bierhoff has advised Jens Lehmann to leave Arsenal should he not regain his place in the first-team.
Lehman, who has been struggling with injury, has not featured for The Gunners since the away draw at Blackburn Rovers on 19th August.
Earlier in the season the German shot-stopper produced a number of high-profile blunders and could well face a fight to reclaim his place in the Arsenal side when he returns from an injury lay-off.
Manuel Almunia has deputised for the injured Lehman, and has impressed in managing six clean sheets in nine games.
Bierhoff has stressed that first-team football is fundamental if Lehmann plans on keeping hold of his No.1 jersey for Germany.
"I can't believe that Jens is out of favour at Arsenal after his performances over the past few years," he told Kicker magazine.
"It is a difficult situation, especially for a goalkeeper. In the short-term it isn't a problem for us, especially as Jens feels that he will soon be back between the posts.
"Many things can happen between now and winter, but if Jens isn't playing regular first team football then I would advise him to look for a new club."
City link, Kahn feud
Lehman, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season, is reportedly being tracked by Manchester City - with Sven Goran Eriksson looking to add an experienced goalkeeper to his squad.
Despite a lack of first-team football, the 37-year-old is set to start for his country in Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier against Republic of Ireland.
Meanwhile, the friction between Oliver Kahn and Lehman has continued to increase following further comments from the Bayern Munich man.
Referring to Lehman's recent response, Kahn said: "Perhaps rather than talk about former colleagues, he should be grateful he has the chance to play in the national team while he doesn't play for his club.
"That has never happened before in the history of German football."
