Arsenal captain William Gallas has backed young midfielder Cesc Fabregas by agreeing that Arsenal are a better team without Thierry Henry.
The Gunners are currently sitting on top of the table after many experst predicted they would struggle without the prolific Frenchman up front. But Henry's absence has led to the emergence of the likes of Fabregas, van persie and Adebayor into world class performers.
Gallas told The Sun : "Thierry leaving has definitely led the young players to take on more responsibility.
"You can see it in Robin Van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor particularly.
"When Thierry was here we played more for him, which was normal given his talent.
"The fact he has gone has forced other players to accept more responsibilities.
"Having learned a lot by playing alongside Thierry, they are showing their ability now."
