Fans, media and team-mates alike have been quick to praise the impact Cesc Fabregas has had on ArsenalÂ’s season so far. As his midfield partner, Mathieu Flamini has enjoyed a front-row view of the SpaniardÂ’s phenomenal form and he paid tribute to Fabregas this week.
“He is playing well in every game and he is very important for us,” said Flamini. “He can make the difference.
“This season Cesc is a bit more free, playing a little bit higher than me and so he has more chance to score and more chance to give some passes and I think that is important.”
Flamini has played several different roles for Arsène Wenger but is happy with his run of games in his preferred position in the centre of midfield, and thinks it has been far from detrimental for his team-mates.
“It’s important for a player to have time to play because it gives you confidence and you can have an understanding with your partner.
“The important thing for me to do is to win the ball and stay in front of the defence,” he said. “I am trying to do the maximum for players like Cesc and Alex Hleb and Tomas Rosicky.”
