Gilberto Silva has insisted that Arsene Wenger's decision to sign a new contract has saved Arsenal from an uncertain future.
The Brazil midfielder admitted that several players had feared Wenger would walk out on the club when his previous deal expired.
Now Gilberto believes the Gunners can approach the rest of the season with fresh confidence and feels they can challenge for the Premiership title.
He said: "It is good for the team that the manager has signed, especially for the young players because he brought all of them to the club.
"They were concerned about the situation and now they are happy it has been sorted out.
"Now he will come back to carry on the job and now all we have to do is continue to make progress and build on our good start.
"We have a young team but the quality is there and that is the most important thing. It doesn't matter if you have a very experienced team - if you don't have the quality you are missing out."
Wenger agreed to a three-year deal to end concerns he would leave to join a big club in Italy or Spain.
Indeed le boss is the most essential and the key player of this arsenal's squad! hail aw!
