Eduardo is trying to make his introduction to English football as pressure-free as possible. The Croatia striker scored his first competitive goal for Arsenal in the final minute of the 3-0 win over Sparta Prague on Wednesday. In terms of the tie, it was unimportant. For the player it was massive. That was obvious when the 24-year-old disappeared under a sea of celebratory team-mates.
"I'm very happy and very relieved,” he said afterwards. “But my hope now is not to stop here and keep on getting goals. I think I made a big mark in Croatia and I intend to leave my mark here at Arsenal as well.
"We are united in our spirit here and you could see that the way the players all knew it was my first goal and celebrated with me. It was a nice feeling.
“There is no pressure really. The manager and all the coaches are just telling me to relax and play the football I can play.
"I have not set any targets because I just want to settle into the team and all I am aiming to do is to help Arsenal have success in the Champions League and the Premier League.
"I don't know what the team can achieve but everything is possible.”
