Chapter 2: Ah Teck goes to NTUC FairPriceMy name is Tan Ah Teck and I am an honest man.
Ah Teck always goes to his favourite NTUC FairPrice to buy his favourite instant-noodles. Although there is one very near his house (just across the road) but he prefers the one a few blocks away.
You see the cashiers at Ah Teck favourite NTUC FairPrice are all very polite. Whenever Ah Teck says “Thank you” to them most of the time they will reply “Thank you” back. So sweet. But of course you have to thank you them first lah. Ah Teck understands, Ah Teck is an honest man.
But I think the main reason why Ah Teck likes to go to that NTUC is because of a pretty cashier working there. He thinks she looks like Fiona Xie. (IÂ’ve seen her before and I totally disagree with Ah Teck. She doesnÂ’t look like Fiona Xie at all! She is tall and slim where got look like Fiona Xie? Maybe Patricia Mok but definitely not Fiona Xie! Come to think of it, a protruding part of her body does looks like Fiona Xie. I am referring to her nose.)
Well it was at his favourite NTUC FairPrice yesterday when Ah Teck heard that next year GST is going to increase by another 2%. Frankly Ah Teck doesnÂ’t know much about economic growth, welfare system, gross income or how long someone high up there is going to stay in power. Heck he doesnÂ’t even know all his MPÂ’s names since he doesnÂ’t have the chance to vote. All he knows is he will be paying more for his favourite instant-noodles. Ah Teck is so clever, he decides to buy more instant-noodles before GST increases.
