Which songs give you a sense of peace.. serenity?

  Well. it's not exactly happy, it's more like a poignant, bittersweet song (and yet hopeful! )
  But I've always loved Moon River . It makes me feel serene. There are many covers but my favourite is the original score from the movie. Especially when I'm in a pensive mood, this song speaks to me.

  Sarah McLachlan.. apart from Angel, she sang a whole lot of wonderful songs
  
  Phantom, strangely, i still like the version of That's All I Ask Of You by Sarah Brightman and Cliff Richard... it has a contrast between a classically trained opera singer and a pop singer...

  Guys, when I am in a poignant mood or I need to calm my self down, I turn down the lights and put on 'over the rainbow/ Its a wonderful world" by Israel Kamakawiwo (or just 'Iz').
  
  I've been listening to that song on and off for more than 4 years now and I still think it is an incredibly beautiful song. His ethereal rendition of those two songs must be heard to be appreaciated. I think the fact that the singer died a few years ago just adds to the beauty of the song.
