Also known as marijuana, pot, grass, joints or ganja
Cannabis creates a mental dependence followed by physical addiction in the long run. It contains a chemical that affects your mood and the way you see and hear things.
The effects of consuming cannabis are a loss of concentration, an increase in heartbeat, poor balance and co-ordination, anxiety or panic, depression, confusion or hallucinations.
Penalties for offences involving Cannabis
Illegal traffic, import or export of :
Cannabis resin of more than 200 grams - DEATH.
Cannabis mixture of more than 1 kilogram - DEATH.
Possession and consumption of cannabis - up to S$20,000 fine or 10 years imprisonment or BOTH. -

Trafficking more than 500 grams of cannabis = death sentence.

500gms of cannabis or 200gms of cannabis resin will get you the death penalty in Singapore..
from the same plant family as Hemp, it is a superior fibre compared to cotton...
this got it outlawed in the US a long time ago using the excuse of THC...
Cannabis is now decriminalised in a few countries as it has shown that it is impossible to overdose on THC in Cannabis...
Cannabis is also used in the treatment of a few illnesses, mainly HIV/AIDS... the side effects of Cannabis is that it makes you hungry.. what potheads call "the munchies"
because of that side effect, sufferers of HIV/AIDS who have to take a mixture of medication will suffer nausea and be unable to eat, combat both nausea and loss of appetite which drains them of energy to fight the virus... making them eat, increases their strength and thus their ability to fight the virus in concert with the handful of pills they have to swallow daily.. -

they do make it such that if you are in possession, you are considered to be trafficking in the stuff unless you can prove otherwise...
possession and trafficking are different things..
like i said, 500gms of cannabis or 200gms of the THC resin can get you hung in Singapore -

out of all the so called 'classes' of drugs, Weed is the only one that is beneficial and consumed under a controled environment helps.
N drivers under influence of weed drives slower and more careful.
we should have a weed discussion some time. he he.... -

i've also seen people who were stoned wrap themselves and their cars around lampposts when i was in australia...

trust me man.. stone ppl dun drive fast.. coz driving fast means more stress.. n when u are stoned up man.. why bother straining urself going so fast when u sit back , relax n just cruise. So far i have not seen ANY accidents involving weed , purely just weed , OD and died of consuming weed and also going violent under the affects of marijuana.
I guess the ones u see are the minorities that..erm.. cant handle the weed ? -

Cannabis, when used in a controlled environment, is meant as a pain suppressant. However, it is highly addictive; a small amount has got very bad side effects. -

THC is NOT addictive...
it was never addictive..
Cannabis is "addictive" due to the nicotine... which you can also get from cigarettes..

Not too sure if they are more aware, but cannabis does make them more relax. erm.. Cannabis is not so addictive like other more instant drugs like Coke , K , or Ice.

but did u know the history of Marijuana ? Philosophers famous ones actually took them to be able to think in another level. There is a word for it i forgot .
Its better then smoking cigarretes. So muchhealth benefits also, but of course consumed with large quanities is not good. Everything must be in moderation , and its not chemically produced.
I cant say about Magic Mushrooms... to me.. the effects u get is purely.. POISON. So that 'natural' plant dun count. -

History, don't really know that much. But have read that some people take it for some special effects, said in studies to be hallucination.

The plant itself has low yield on THC , depending on how u grow them , how u manicure them and what species. Like Goverment ground marijuana the G-13 has a THC yield of 40%. The reports not just goverment , official or what.. even the independant research have come to the conclusion that yes , it CAN be addictive, but it is still controlable by th eindividual. Consuming vast amounts of course will lead to health issues , its like eating Dinner plate KFC...EVERY SINGLE DAY...
