1stly, being straight dun mean u're normal. there is no normal. u're straight or bi or gay. your sexuality do not define your normality, unless u're telling me u're still living with cavemen.
2ndly, real straight people who are secure in their own sexuality will take any admiration from a gay man as a compliment, and thats it. There is no need to feel uneasy. Why should u? All u need to do is to say "thanks but i straight" and they won't press the issue. At least they're not like straight males who cannot understand NO means NO.
now guys who are insecure, on the otherhand, have good reason to feel uncomfortable. Struggling inside with secret gay desires tend to make a person feel that way. Its not easy to bury such emotions deep inside, if i were a guy who is insecure, I'd be uncomfortable having to deal with a gay man's compliments too! who knows if his admiration will bring up emotions i've worked so hard to suppress, right?
So, to conclude, if u're really straight, u won't feel theres anything bad about such a compliment from a gay guy.
3rdly, regardless of your sexuality, its just plain double standard to expect a lesbian girl to be able to accept compliments from men when u yourself cannot do the same with compliments from gay men. If its, as u say, "sumthing which cant change", then it is something we can't change either, "unless we're straight". But we're not. Participants consisted of a group of homophobic men (n = 35) and a group of nonhomophobic men (n = 29); they were assigned to groups on the basis of their scores on the Index of Homophobia (W. W. Hudson & W. A. Ricketts, 1980). The men were exposed to sexually explicit erotic stimuli consisting of heterosexual, male homosexual, and lesbian videotapes, and changes in penile circumference were monitored. They also completed an Aggression Questionnaire (A. H. Buss & M. Perry, 1992). Both groups exhibited increases in penile circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos. Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression.
