Why cant people bring their pets to food centres ?

I've just been reading Stomp...
There are a few Stomp posts complaining about patrons who bring their pet dogs to hawker centres etc.
Actually I dont understand something....
Why cant people do that..?
I read a few posts mentioning hygiene reason.
But I dont really understand.
What does it mean by hygiene reason ?
Obviously the dogs are not eating and licking the plates.
So is there hygiene reason from the dog's presence ?
If the dog is simply being there, why is it a problem.
Dog is a living creature and is a creature just like humans.

many years ago, an exclusive club banned maids from entering the club with their boss, cos it will compromise the image of the club. members paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for membership, but maids doesnt. they are worried, if members bring their maids along, they not only intrude and take out space in the premises. it created a hooha in the newspaper. same thing here.
the hawkers are meant for people not pets to sit down in the hawker centre. they may cite hygiene etc, but if pet owners are not happy, go somewhere to eat with their pets.

It's not just hygiene, it's about being sensitive to others. What if I bring a pet pig to sit beside a group of malays? It's simply not nice.
To pet owners, your pets are the nicest living thing on earth, but please be sensitive to others because they may not feel the same way... I mean, I love my pet Cobra and having lived with it for years, it's definitely harmless and not as dangerous as everyone made it out to be... so if I am allowed to bring it out, and it happens to bite someone, and they die, how? Even if it never bites, the mere presence of it is simply an annoyance or a pest to the others having their meals.
So that's a simple answer to your question.

A lot of problem. If I carry hot soup and the dogs start running around me? Some people are afraid of small animals. Allergy to fur? Pet's poo and urine. Dog 1 mark his area here, Dog 2 mark her are there. The whole hawker center will be filled and smell with dog urine.
