hmm i cant see any pics. anyway i did heard the news reporting about a small tornado appearing in sentosa but it subsided once it reached the sea.

A water sprout is identical to the land-formed tornados but this sign can only happen at the sea... Harmless to land but sometimes can create a high underwater reverse current due to the centrifugal spiralling effect... Forming of water sprout mainly is due to the low pressure of moisture at sea level and meeting of high pressure of rain clouds, thus causing a static pull, forming a vertical column of vacumn... -

At Ubin, chances to see or experience a water sprout is extremely low due to the narrow sea channel... The best places and period of the year to see the water sprouts are along the coastlines of East Coast and West Coast, the southern islands like Sentosa, the Jurong Islands, Changi and Pulau Tekong, between the period of August till October, more frequent during the the La Nina effects...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Really never lah. In the history of Singapore, we had only a close brushed encounter of a Cat 4 typhoon which formed in the South China Sea in the 1984 period where lots of trees were uprooted and torrential rains flooded quite many areas of Singapore due to the high wind speed of close to 19 Knots caused by the outer spinning ring of typhoon...
