Indeed, RIP, skid. You'll be missed.
They gave her the what for today. She was keeping a low profile today and behaving. Let's see how long this lasts. To summarise the situation, she was behaving like a tyrant. So I'm staying for now.
How's life in your neck of the woods?

That can be both good and bad. She might tone down and make your work situation more tolerable, but that might only be temporary. She'll likely be back to her old ways when she realizes management no longer has her under their microscope. In any event, the working relationship between the two of you will henceforth likely be strained. Just my two cents...
Life here goes on. Getting really, really, really sick of winter. We'll get socked with a snowstorm that dumps several inches of snow, then enjoy a few days of above-freezing weather before the next storm rolls in and dumps even more snow. Rinse. Repeat. Winter isn't any more tolerable despite my having lived here for over two decades.
Are you done with your taxes yet? I e-filed my returns in mid-February, but had to file a 1040X a couple of days ago because my @#$!%^&*^!! bank sent me an amended 1099-DIV and a Schedule K-1 that I had never, ever received before. TurboTax can process a 1040X, but isn't able to e-file it, so I had to print out all of my amended tax forms and send them via snail mail to the IRS. On a positive note, the amendments resulted in my getting an additional $62 refund.

Even though small, at least you got a refund. We had to pay the feds for the very first time. To the tune of $2K plus. To rub salt into the open wound, a letter came telling us we owe them another $300 plus because we forgot to declare a certain return for 2011. When it rains it sure pours.
As for the sup fiasco. the matter has been addressed. There was a round table (previously scheduled) with the boss man, involving a couple of departments under said sup. I was told that it was a fierce session with many participants voicing their displeasure with said sup. Boss man decided to switch said sup's area of responsibility to a smaller arena. Boss man told me that since said sup has no real people skills then she can learning while managing a smaller dept. I think that he's setting her up for failure. Since the timing of my action happily coincided with the round table, I'm not worried about possible fallout between us.
Re: MN winters. Would you consider a possible move to Seattle? I remember how you loved your visit there. The older I get the less I'm able to tolerate the cold. Yes, SD winters are cold por moi.

Cool! Any idea how long you'll be staying in Taipei?

I just went there for holiday...
the weather's totally great when compared to sunny Singapore
what I like is that even though it might be sunny over there, but it's generally not as humid as in Singapore... I seldom sweat there...
And yes, food is a BIG plus point for Taipei

That's because you weren't there in the height of summer. It gets pretty damn hot according to my classmate who interned there.
Hi guys,
I hope you don't mind my posting here, but I thought you might be able to help as you're all keeping in touch via this forum?
Jam Productions are making heartwarming documentaries about people from all over the world and how they stay connected, and I'm looking for people to take part. Is there a remarkable story of how you've stayed connected with someone over the years? It could be a friend, family member, or even an amazing teacher you're still in touch with to this day.
I am interested in hearing anything and everything about how two people stay close over the years even though they may be geographically apart.
I am pleased to say that we can pay you both for your time if you are chosen to take part.
If this is you, please don’t hesitate to email tamsin@spreadingjam.com
Thanks so much guys!
Tamsin

MIA for ages too! update: still in LA, transferred schools, graduating next year. any tips for a graduating college kid on how to avoid getting deported back to the motherland after graduation? lol
A quick hello from Melbourne. Hope everyone is well and having fun.
Cheers.
Having fun eh...?
Back in SG we are having loads of fun with the smoke screen
During the peak on last friday, it looked like a sand storm in the middle east -___-
Aiyah, they all not in SG mah, so hopefully having fun.
Well, it should be summer everywhere so it's blistering hot
how's Summer for everyone???

Hot... and wet. At least here in the upper midwest. We've been having ridiculous amounts of rain in recent weeks, but I would rather that than the drought that afflicted us same time last year.
How's "summer" for you so far in SG? It looks like the haze situation is getting better, is it not?
Today was okay, last friday was terrible...
The vision was quite bad, and everything seems yellowish... akin to those sandy/windy days in the middle east >___>
And the air constantly smells of something burning...
