A total of 25,210 COEs will be up for grabs.
More Certificates of Entitlement (COEs) will be available from February to April 2016, the Land Transportation Authority (LTA) revealed.
A total of 25,210 COEs will be available in the next three months, a steep increase compared to 21,653 in the current November to January period.
Category A COE quotas jumped 22.5% to 4,057 COEs each month, while Category B quotas rose 18% to 2,417 COEs per month. Monthly quotas for the open category, or Category E, also jumped 23.9% to 892 COEs.
Meanwhile, a total of 713 Category D COEs will be made available each month. However, monthly quotas for commercial vehicles, or Category C, were slashed by 32.6% to just 324 COEs.
The COE quota increased on back of a high amount of replacement COEs in the current three-month period, coupled with the provision of 0.25% per annum vehicle growth based on the current vehicle population. The number of available COEs also included adjustments for changes in the taxi population, replacement of commercial vehicles under the Early Turnover Scheme, and expired COEs.
